WHAT IS HUMSS?
The HUMSS strand is designed to develop the students’ skills in understanding individuals and society. It develops in the learner a deeper understanding of societal issues and the dynamics of human conditions. Students will have a better appreciation and knowledge of culture, society, politics, art, and literature that provide a closer look into the interplay of different aspects of society. It develops the students’ ability to understand the various life perspectives of peoples, being able to analyze, and create one’s objective opinion on individuals, society, politics, culture, technology, and religious belief. Thus, the student is trained to think both critically and creatively, and to communicate ideas to influence human behavior, society, politics, and the cultural environment.
